From Fear to Faith and Purpose
In a moment, everything can change.
On October 10, 2018, I received the call that no wife ever wants to hear. Something had happened to my husband, Adrian, and I needed to get to the hospital immediately.
When I arrived, I was taken into a room and told that the doctors were doing everything they could, but they did not believe he was going to survive.
His heart had already stopped multiple times.
And if he did make it, they prepared me for the possibility of brain damage, paralysis, or a life that would never be the same.
In that moment, everything around me said to prepare for loss.
But I chose to stand in faith â¤ï¸
I held onto what I knew to be true. I believed that his life had purpose, and that this was not the end of his story.
And by the grace of God, it wasn’t.
Adrian survived.
That experience changed our lives forever. It opened our eyes to how quickly life can shift, and how important it is for people to be prepared in moments like this.
Today, we are turning that experience into purpose through T.R.I.N.I.T.Y., the nonprofit we co-founded, and through our Heart Strong Initiative.
We are committed to helping families understand heart health, increasing awareness around sudden cardiac arrest, and making sure more people know how to respond in an emergency.
Because I know what it feels like to stand in a hospital, waiting and hoping that someone did everything they could.
The Heart Walk means more than just showing up.
It is a way to honor survival, to raise awareness, and to help create more moments where families get a second chance â¤ï¸
If sharing our story helps even one more person be prepared, then it is worth it.
