My heart journey hasn’t been easy.
I survived a heart attack in 2013. In 2022, I was diagnosed with coronary artery disease and had three stents placed.
I walk as a survivor.
I walk as a fighter.
Most of all, I walk for my kids and my future.
Heart disease doesn’t care how strong you think you are—but recovery teaches you how strong you really are. Every step is a reminder that I’m still here, still fighting, and choosing life every day.
If you’re walking today—whether as a survivor, caregiver, or supporter—know this: your steps matter. Awareness matters. Hope matters.
Also—let’s say it out loud—heart trauma messes with more than the body. It messes with fear, trust in your own strength, and that quiet voice that wonders “how much time do I really have?” If that voice shows up, it doesn’t mean we're weak. It means we’re human and we’ve been through some real stuff.
But here’s the truth, straight up:
-
We’re still here.
-
We’re still choosing life.
-
Our kids get "US"—a parent who knows how precious time is.
-
Our future isn’t canceled; it’s intentional now.
