On December 30, 2023, while on vacation in San Diego with my family, I survived sudden cardiac arrest.
I collapsed in a grocery store while getting donuts for the kids. Thankfully, someone called 911. The stars aligned that morning-an ambulance happened to be at the stoplight nearby and arrived within minutes. After two shots of epinephrine and three shocks from an AED, they were able to get my heart beating again.
Each year, more than 350,000 people experience sudden cardiac arrest outside of a hospital, and less than 1 in 10 survive. That number is unacceptable and has to change. Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, at any time. Please support and join the mission to save more lives through heart health awareness, education, CPR training, and access to lifesaving AEDs.
I walk because I know every step helps save lives.
Heart disease and stroke impact all of us in some way, and we have to change that. Your donation helps fund lifesaving research, education, CPR awareness, and programs that give families more time with the people they love.
As we support the American Heart Association, we continue the fight to move health and well-being forward until heart disease and stroke no longer take the people we love too soon.
Please have a heart and help me reach my goal today.
