This year marks my fourth year supporting the Fresno Heart Walk, and this walk continues to mean more to me than I can ever fully put into words.
Four years ago, my life took an unexpected turn when I experienced sudden cardiac arrest. Things could have gone very differently, but thanks to my friends jumping into action, the power of CPR, and the incredible medical team who cared for me, I’m still here.
Every year, the Heart Walk has been such a special way to celebrate that second chance surrounded by people I love. I walk to bring awareness to heart health and the life-saving importance of CPR. I walk for those we’ve lost too soon, for those still fighting, and for all the families whose lives have been touched by heart disease.
This year is going to look a little different for Team Heart to Heart. The walk happens to fall during fair season, so our family will be at the fair cheering on Nariyah while she shows her animal, another one of those special moments in life that I’m so grateful to be here for.
Even though I won’t physically be at the walk this year, Heart to Heart will definitely still be there in spirit! We’ll be wearing our shirts, celebrating the day, and supporting a cause that will forever be such an important part of my life.
And if you’d still like to join the walk and represent or even help lead Team Heart to Heart that day, that would be amazing. I would love knowing our team is still out there walking, celebrating, and spreading awareness. You can also support by joining the team, wearing your Heart to Heart shirt that day, making a donation, or simply helping share the importance of CPR and heart health.
Four years later, I’m still here, still grateful, and still celebrating this beautiful second chance at life.
Thank you for continuing to be part of my story, for supporting Team Heart to Heart, and for reminding me every year just how much love surrounds me. It truly means more than you know.
With my whole heart,
