Every day, I move between two worlds: the clinic, where I care for patients with cardiovascular disease, and the research laboratory, where we work to better understand the biology underlying these conditions. What connects both worlds is a simple belief: tomorrow's breakthroughs depend on the research we support today.
I know this not only as a physician-scientist, but also from personal experience. Early in my career, the American Heart Association invested in me through research funding as a trainee. Later, as a faculty member, AHA support again helped advance my work. Those investments provided opportunities to develop new ideas, train with outstanding mentors, and build a career focused on improving cardiovascular health.
When people donate to the AHA, they are not simply supporting a project. They are investing in scientists, trainees, and discoveries that may ultimately change how we prevent, diagnose, and treat cardiovascular disease. I am one example of how those investments can make a meaningful difference. The support I received helped shape my career, and countless other investigators have similar stories.
Today, I am proud to give back by helping raise funds for the next generation of researchers. There are talented young scientists working on the questions that could lead to the next major advance in cardiovascular medicine. With your support, they will have the opportunity to pursue those discoveries and translate them into better outcomes for patients everywhere.
Thank you for helping make that future possible.
