Why Azziem 'The Dream' Walk?

This year marks my 15th Heart Walk, and my commitment remains the same: to help make the next life-saving scientific breakthrough possible. Every step we take brings us closer to saving more lives. Thank you for walking with me to make it happen!

I started walking because of the people closest to me:

1. My father passed away at just 53 from congenital heart disease when I was only 18.
2. My identical twin survived a “windowmaker” heart attack at 53, but sadly passed at 58.
3. My doctors remind me often that I carry risk factors too;  hypertension, high cholesterol, and a family history of heart disease.
4. My daughter, Tia Nicole, and my grandchildren, David Anthony and Joyce Alexandria, are my motivation to keep going strong. I want to spend as much time as possible with them.

Today, I walk not only for my family, but also for the millions of people just like me; people who just want one more day, one more laugh, one more memory with the people they love. Together, we can help make that possible.
