My family believes in the mission of the American Heart Association and the power of the Heart Walk because we have two heart-warriors in our family - my Father and my nephew.
My dad suffered a heart attack in 2002 and he is alive today because of the education, research funding and the incredible misson of the AHA. My nephew, Ryan, was born with a serious congential heart defect. Once a death-sentence, he is thriving. He is alive today and just celebrated his 13th birthday last year. All of this because of research and donors like us. People coming together to support people we love.
9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital don’t survive. Most of the time, it’s because no one nearby performed CPR. But together, we can change that.
