2026 Alachua County Heart Walk
April's Heart Beats
In a heartbeat, you could be the difference.
9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital don’t survive. Too often, it’s because no one nearby knows how to perform CPR or use an AED. But together, we can change that.
April is blessed to be that 1 in 10 and knows just how important those lifesaving skills can be. She survived a sudden cardiac event because two summer camp counselors took action immediately—performing CPR and using an AED when every single second mattered. She is able to live life to the fullest now because of their heroic actions. Her story is a powerful reminder that extraordinary things can happen when ordinary people are prepared to act.
A small step. A simple skill. A lifesaving moment.
Heart Walk brings communities together to create health and hope for every heartbeat. Every person who joins, every dollar donated, and every person who learns CPR or how to use an AED helps create more opportunities for lifesaving moments. Together, we can support CPR training, lifesaving resources, and research that gives more people like April a chance to survive.
Extraordinary starts with YOU.
Join our team today or support us by donating toward our fundraising goal. Because you never know when the skills you learn—or the support you give—could help save a life.
