Why I Walk
In July 2009, I lost my Uncle Al after many years of heart issues. Al had several heart attacks, a defibrillator, and countless surgeries. Losing my Uncle at such a young age was devastating to my aunt, cousin, and our whole family.
AHA funded research on treatment of cardiovascular disease gave us more years with Al, but still not enough. There is still more work to do to overcome heart disease. That is why I walk!
