My Story:
Heart disease affected my life in a dramatic way. I lost both my father, and my father-in-law to "one-shot" massive myocardial infarction. Both men were in their mid-50's when they died. I have now lived longer that either of them, and I'm blessed to be a grandfather, "Pops," to (now) FOUR wonderful boys! FAMILY IS WHY!
2023 has had some "downs" and "ups" for our family. My father's twin sister turned 103 last fall and then passed away in February of this year. My mom reached 100 in December, and then passed away in May of this year after suffering a broken hip. Although we've lost these two wonderful ladies, my mother-in-law is still fighting at the age of 88. There's no doubt that advances in cardiac care helped keep these ladies around this long. The "up" side of 2023 is the birth of grandson #4!
