I walk because I am a heart attack survivor and have endured the loss of both of my parents to heart disease.
My father Walter died of a second heart attack nearly thirty years ago; my mother Helen succumbed to congestive heart failure ten years ago.
My involvement and support of the 2023 Heart Walk is a tribute to their influence in my life and their kind-heartedness.
I'm a writer. Perhaps it's appropriate that all four of my books include creative, heartfelt stories about love and loss.
In fact, An Unobstructed View (my third book), chronicles my reflections, trauma, and recovery after suffering a heart attack on the way west as Tom (my husband) and I moved from Illinois to Arizona in 2017.
We're all tied to heart disease and stroke in some way. We have to change that. Will you help me?
Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives.
Have a heart and help me reach my goal today.
