2025 Tampa Bay Heart Walk
30 Years, One Heart
9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. In most of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But we can change this.
This year marks my 29th year of fighting cardiovascular disease and stroke—and preparing for my 29th Heart Walk. I’m incredibly blessed by the unwavering support of family and friends who either walk beside me or cheer me on from afar.
There is one person in particular I need to thank. I know I don’t say it enough, but I am forever grateful to my best friend, Jessica Dosio. She is the reason I am here today, and the person who quite literally saved my life. Jessica, I cherish our friendship more than words can say. You are my person.
As I reflect on the past 29 years, I can’t help but wonder how this journey—this fight—may have touched someone else’s life. Has our walk inspired someone to take action? To prioritize their health? To feel supported and not alone?
If you’ve ever been moved to join this mission, or if you’ve found inspiration through my story, I’d love to hear what brought you to the fight. Your encouragement means more than you know.
I’m already looking ahead to a very special milestone—my 30th Walk on December 15. But today, I’m simply thankful for another year of walking, surviving, and sharing this path with so many of you.
With all my heart, thank you for standing with me. I hope you’ll consider helping me reach my goal today. Every step, every dollar, and every story makes a difference.
Love,
Mandi
