2025 Heart Walk Campaign
In late March. I had lunch with my friend Todd, an amazing builder of rock structures. Todd has been through a lot since he suffered two strokes several years ago. His strokes were likely triggered by injections to cure a cornea problem, as each stroke followed an injection. He was not told about the stroke risk until after his second stroke.
We reconnected last year, after the waterfall he built for us had sprung a leak and was draining our swimming pool. I called Todd and was delighted to find that he was almost fully recovered and back in business. He dismantled the rock structure of the waterfall piece by heavy piece, with help from two younger men. Todd figured out that rodents had dug down through several inches of rocks the size of hands, so they could chew through the waterfall’s vinyl liner and create a snug winter home. Amazing but irritating critters!
Lessons learned: Make sure you know about the risks of any injection and don’t underestimate rodents!
Thank you so much for your continuing support!
