Walking in Faith. Fighting with Heart.
My name is Tasha Wilburn, and I created this team in honor of my husband, Frankie.
At just 37 years old, Frankie was diagnosed with severe heart failure—not because of his lifestyle or choices, but because of a rare, undetected genetic condition.
For months, no one could figure out what was wrong. His heart was failing—and no one could stop it.
He had to wear a defibrillator vest 24/7, knowing he could pass out or worse at any moment.
Eventually, doctors implanted a pacemaker/defibrillator to help keep his heart beating. It saved his life.
Frankie’s condition is now stable, but permanent.
And at the time of his diagnosis, our children were just 6, 3, and 3 months old. The thought of losing their father—my best friend—before age 40 was unthinkable.
That’s why I’m walking.
To raise awareness.
To advocate for early detection.
To encourage regular checkups, heart screenings, and lifestyle changes.
➡ Heart disease doesn’t just affect the elderly.
➡ It can be silent, genetic, and deadly—even in your 30s.
If Frankie hadn’t worn that vest… if he hadn’t gotten the implant… he might not be here today.
But he is.
