A lot of you may have been part of my story or heard my story, but for those who haven't. I had a stroke when I was 40w1d pregnant at 30 years old. I was, as far as I knew, a completely healthy person with no complications. Every prenatal visit was perfectly fine. I showed no alarming signs during my pregnancy, until I woke up with weakness and facial droop. This was a traumatic and bizarre time for myself and my family. What I didn't realize until further research is the chances of women having a stroke during a pregnancy is every 30 out of 100,000, that's .03% of women! It's so rare, but so scary and needs more awareness spread regarding this medical phenomenon. That is my intention with this walk and my educational journey.
