There are 2.3 million individual living with Limb Loss across the United State of America. Each yearr 185,000 amputations occur due to causes of vascular disease, diabetes, trauma, and cancer. Many individuals with limb loss also have been diagnosed with a type of cardiac insufficiency, heightening their risk for stroke, heart attack, or other complications.
Daily activity with a prosthesis can place an additional 25-200% load on the cardiovascular system. This additional stress, coupled with the existing cardiac insufficnecy, increases the risk of cardiovascular disease mortality by 90%.
Our team is walking to bring awareness to the challenges of life with a prosthesis, to show the power of community, and to advocate for improvements to be made to healthcare and accessiblity.
It's time to unite, take action, and save lives. Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, brings better awareness to what can be achieved through hard work and proper care after amputation.
We'll be walking to Save Lives, to give the amputee community a voice, and to inspire all those recovering from amputatoin that they can too can reach their goals.
Help me reach my goal today by joining our team or donating towards our goal.
