Why We're Fundraising for the America Heart Association
I spring 2025, our lives changed forever. David - a healthy, active 44-year old husband, father, and machinist- suffered a massive heart attack just hours after we left a meeting at our daughter's school.
If it wasn't for his wife starting CPR and helpful bystanders David might not be here David was unconscious. His heart had stopped, his body was shutting down. It took fast acting EMTs, CPR and an incredible team at Sharp Grossmont Hospital -along with a life saving device called the Impella Heart Pump- to bring him back. Our good Lord blessed us and everyone who touched Davids care.
David survived, and he's here with us today. But not evewryone gets a second chance.
That's why we're fundraising for the American Heart Association- to raise awareness, fund research, and support life-saving tools and treatments like the one that saved David's life.
This isn't just our story- heart disease is the #1 killer in the U.S.. it's hitting people younger and younger, including those in their 30s and 40s, with little warning.
Every dollar we raise helps fund:
- Life-saving medical research
- Faster emergency response tools
- Education and prevention efforts
- Support for survivors and their families
Let's light up the scoreboard- for those who've survived, for those we've lost, and for a healthier future for us all.
Please consider donating- big or small, it all makes a difference.
With love and gratitude,
David, Heather, Kaylee and Charlotte Worsham.
