because I was born with congenital heart defect (CHD); pulmonary atresia with intact, ventricular septum with right hypoplastic ventricle. I was born at Sharp Mary Birch hospital and was transferred immediately to Rady children's hospital and that is where my journey began. I was admitted after birth for 13 months, and during those 13 months I had two open heart surgery, was on ECMO, multiple catheterization's, a pacemaker placed and G-tube placed. Since being home, I have thrived tremendously. I had two more open heart surgeries, my most recent being in May 2023 and was able to get my pacemaker removed. Thankfully, I have recovered amazingly. Recently in Feb 2024 unfortunately I ended up getting pneumonia and it took a big toll on my body. I am now on the heart transplant list to await a new heart (which will require me to be admitted into the hospital for about 6months-a year and a half-ish).
