The American Heart Association Beach Ride is an unique, five-day equestrian event that brings together riders and horses from across the nation to camp, ride and raise critical funds and awareness in the fight against heart disease and stroke. Funds raised support the American Heart Association’s mission: funding groundbreaking research, educating communities, and advocating for longer, healthier lives.

Throughout the week, participants enjoy a full schedule of activities, culminating in a scenic 20-mile celebratory ride along the beach on Saturday.

The Beach Ride was first held 45 years ago, led by Myrtle Beach native, Jack Monroe, and his wife Margo. The event began with 20 riders and has since grown into a beloved tradition attended by hundreds of horses and riders each year. Formerly known as the “Heart Ride” or “Ride-A-Thon,” the Beach Ride takes place each fall in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Since the American Heart Association’s founding in 1924, deaths from cardiovascular disease have been cut in half. And yet, there are still so many lives to be saved. By driving breakthroughs in science, policy and care, together we can continue to advance health and transform lives every day.

        •    19 Million + high blood pressure patients helped.
        •    $6 Billion + invested in pioneering research leading to lifesaving breakthroughs.
        •    22 million people trained in CPR every year.

We ride to save lives. You can too!
