Our team name is as unique as we are - MattLee's Yankton Happy Hippies Heartwalk Heroes. Everybody has past or current ties to Yankton, as you can see in our picture, we like our tie-dyed, brightly colored shirts which makes us happy, and reminds folks of the clothing of the 1960s associated with those free spirits called "hippies". More than that, we are bound together by the fact that we all share relationships with those who have been or are currently impacted by heart and stroke issues. We have lost family members in the past and continue to support those still with us and dealing with heart and stroke concerns. Unfortunately, that does not make us as unique as our team name - too many folks have suffered losses and struggle with caring for those with ongoing cardiovascular issues.
Our team namesakes, Matt K and Lee, have ongoing concerns. Matt has been battling major heart conditions including multiple surgeries since childhood and Lee has had heart attacks, bypass and PVCs in adulthood. Despite all of that you will never meet anyone happier and loving as Matt. Lee may not be as happy a person, but he shares a passion for supporting the AHA in all its efforts to thank them for all they have done for Matt, himself and all the other families in these same circumstances. In other words, we are supporters, survivors, caregivers and most of all, heroes in support of the AHA Heart Walk and all it has accomplished and will continue to accomplish in the future.
Join us in being a heart hero. Be a relentless force. Be a part of an unstoppable team. Join us now and together we will help save lives. Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, encouraging words, being a part of a team, financial donations or whatever else you can do to support AHA and MattLee's Yankton Happy Hippies Heartwalk Heroes.
