Toni’s Troopers walks at the Long Island Heart Walk to honor the memory of my mom, Antonia “Toni” Armano, who passed away 20 years ago from heart disease. Toni was a caring and loving woman who dedicated her life to giving back to her family, friends, and community. Her legacy of kindness and generosity continues to inspire us, and we walk to keep her spirit alive and raise awareness about heart disease.

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States, affecting millions of lives each year. By walking, we aim to bring attention to and encourage more people to understand the risks and take preventative measures.

This year is particularly significant for Toni’s Troopers. It marks our 10th walk and the 20th anniversary of my mom's passing. The walk is happening the day after what would have been her birthday, adding a reminder of the time we had with her. Each step we take is in her memory and honor, reinforcing our commitment to fight against heart disease and support those affected by it.
