Hi everyone! Thank you for taking the time to read about a special upcoming event for an even more special boy. This is Lako, and as his mother I know as a parent what it is like to have your heart in literal human form. At a routine doctor appointment he was diagnosed with a heart murmur at the age of one. We were sent to Morgantown West Virginia to have some cardiac testing. I'm beyond blessed for the outcome, and to be informed by his doctors that this is not life threatening and is labeled as harmless/innocent. I ofcourse asked all my mom questions and the Cardiac Professional reassured me that Lako's heart does beat abnormally but, it's just doing its own thing and being noisy. Which I can confirm seems pretty normal for him behavior wise lol. We take our doctor appointments very serious, and always listen to his heart thoroughly. Lako is the most precious boy. Im so very grateful for God and how he has blessed me with my noisy heart having boy, and my forever best friend. Lako is now six years old and is energy filled, food loving, playful, and so so silly. Some of his favorite things are Harry Potter Lego builds, plushies, watermelon, and cats. We love the outdoors, and all things animals (ducks crack him up), and he just can't get enough swimming done in the pool. We garden and "pluck" carrots we have grown from seed. He is my sweet and considerate lover boy.
We invite you to come meet us and laugh at the city park ducks with us for Lako's Heart Walk.
I walk because I know that with every step, I am saving lives.
We're all tied to heart disease and stroke in some way. We have to change that. Will you help me?
Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives.
This year, as we celebrate the Centennial of the American Heart Association, we will move health and well-being forward in important and critical ways. This relentless pursuit will continue until heart disease and stroke no longer exist.
Have a heart and help me reach my goal today.
