This is my dad.
While you can't see in this picture that the entire left side of his body is paralyzed, he had a stroke in early 2018 which resulted in him being largely immobile. He is my "why". His love of family and friends models the behavior I strive to show to mine. We share a love of travel and talk about it often. Yet, he's no longer to travel with me due to his inability to get around well anymore.
While I joined the American Heart Association for many reasons, I stay because of him - because of the mission of the Association to relentlessly fight heart disease. We are a non-profit organization and donations are how we continue to lead the way in championing the amazing research and education around heart health. The education extends to not only doctors, nurses and hospitals, but communities, companies, and individuals wanting to prevent heart disease and stroke like that which affected my dad.
In his honor, I want to raise $5,000 for our upcoming Dallas Heart Walk. I would love your support to help me, to honor him, to honor your family members you have lost to heart disease, and to prevent it from happening to your loved ones so you can enjoy many, many more years with them.
