Help me be a Heart Walk Hero!
Hey all, thanks for hitting my page. I am a Heart Surgery survivor. My story starts with a simple 40 year physical with my family Doctor noticing a heart murmur, he suggested I get it checked out, reluctantly, but thankfully, I did just that. At the Cardiologist's office I received my diagnosis - Atrial Septal Defect (hole in the heart). I went in to get this repaired via outpatient surgery to stem the much earlier onset of Chronic Heart Disease. However, I had many complications and ended up in the Cardiac ICU for four days (with multiple close calls...) followed by a long recovery. I am blessed to have all these great doctors, hospital staff, family and friends to support me (and great company/insurance to pay the huge bill!) Anyway, I am back and better than I was before I had the surgery and am cleared for hopefully a long life of love!
Don't feel obligated to donate, just come walk or just send some positive mojo towards the AHA. However, if you do come, I guarantee it will be a fun time! Thanks for reading, all the best to you and yours!
