I walk because I know that with every step, I am saving lives.
As some of you know, I had Open Heart Surgery last December 2023. Unbeknownst to me, I was born with a heart anomaly known as Aortic Bicuspid Valve. Without current research, I would not be here today. This is a small way I would love to give back. My husband, Steve, works for a company that will match 100% of what I collect.
We're all tied to heart disease and stroke in some way. I truly would like to be some small part of the change. I had a grandfather, 3 uncles, 2 cousins and a father who died from heart disease.
Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives.
This year, as we celebrate the Centennial of the American Heart Association, we will move health and well-being forward in important and critical ways. This relentless pursuit will continue until heart disease and stroke no longer exists. All donations are presented by my team, “Vonnie’s Heart Team”, to the Duke Heart Center in Durham.
On Sunday, September 8th at 10:00 am, we will walk starting in our culdesac at 129 Essie Dr. Please feel free to jog, power walk, simply walk or whatever you’re comfortable with.
Thank you so much for your consideration â¤ï¸
