I walk because I'm a survivor and I want to help others! I was born with a congenital heart defect called AVSD Atrial Ventrical Septal Defect. I underwent open heart surgery at 4 months old to repair the defect and all was well until my follow up appointment when they discovered that one of the valves was still leaking. I was placed on blood pressure medications and told there would have to be another surgery in my future to repair this leaky valve. I had open heart surgery for the second time in March 2023 when I was 13 years old. While in the hospital I faced several challenges and had 3 additional procedures including placement of a pacemaker. I am now 14 and thriving and asking you to help me help others!
We're all tied to heart disease and stroke in some way. We have to change that. Will you help me?
Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives.
I also hope that you can join me for the AHA Heart Walk on September 8th at the PNC Arena, walk begins at 10:30!
