Seven years ago on October 16th I suffered a massive heart attack followed by triple bypass surgery two days later. I didn't let it define me or destroy me, instead I let it strengthen me. "One of these days your heart will stop and play its final beat" is a line from a song that is frequently in my thoughts. I am so thankful that October 16, 2017 was not that day for me, and I am extremely grateful for every heart beat God grants me.
In my lifetime almost 20 of my family members have passed, including my mom, who suffered from heart disease and stroke. Besides me there are a few survivors in my family including five cousins and my dad.
