Hello Friends and Colleagues,
Less than a year ago, I lost my beloved professor, mentor, and dear friend, Dan Cormany, PhD, to heart disease. Recently, I also bid farewell to Kathy Kingston, a true inspiration and a colleague with whom I had the privilege of working. And just this first week of August, we said goodbye to Dave Shoemaker, a close family friend, also taken by heart disease. The pain of these losses brings to mind the unexpected passing of my grandfather due to a heart attack, one of the first losses in my earliest memories.
Sadly, many of us carry similar stories of loved ones affected by heart disease. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for people of most racial and ethic groups in the United States, claiming over 800,000 lives each year—equivalent to the population of Austin, TX.
In collaboration with my wonderful colleagues, and our greater DocuSign family, I am proud to be part of an initiative to raise funds for the American Heart Association. Our aim is to honor the memory of those we've lost, to support those currently battling heart disease, and to pave the way for prevention, research, and education.
While I usually hesitate to make direct financial requests, this cause is deeply personal to me and to so many others.
Here's what I'm hoping for, and my humble request:
- Join me in a walk, either in San Francisco or your own neighborhood, to help raise awareness for heart health and education.
- If you can, please consider making a donation of any size (here: https://lnkd.in/gz_uZTSq). Rest assured, this is a trustworthy avenue—your contribution will support crucial research in preventing heart disease and educating people about CPR.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Let's stand together for good heart health and make a meaningful difference.
Kylee
