I am fundraising to make sure others can get the same life saving care I received and to bring awareness to heart disease.
Here is my story...
January 15, 2024, changed my life forever. While sitting in the car with my 2 kids I began to have severe chest pain, sweating, dizziness and nausea. I called my kid's Dad to come pick them up urgently, as they were my main concern. I then called my significant other to let him know I was having severe chest pain and was going to call 911. I then made the call to 911. In the next few minutes my chest pain only got worse, feeling weaker by the second, breathing got more difficult, and I could no longer keep my eyes open. I had my phone propped on my shoulder as I lay against the car door, listening to the dispatcher update me on the location of EMS and reminding me to focus on my breathing. Inside I was panicking! Worried about my kids, who were in the back seat and terrified that I was going to die.
The next few minutes went by in a flash. I opened my eyes as they were transporting me into the Ambulance, to see my kid's Dad talking with the Police. I was relieved to know that my kids were safe and in good hands. I start to feel myself go limp and could not move anything but my head side to side as I moan in pain. As soon as the EKG was done in the ambulance it became quiet. The EMT did one more EKG and it confirmed that I was indeed having a heart attack.
I was rushed into the ER and I felt like a whirlwind. I was rushed into the Cath Lab where they found 100% and 75% blockages and stints were placed. As soon as the blockage was cleared my chest pain lessened and I could breathe again. I turned towards the surgeon and thanked him for relieving my pain.
After the procedure I was back to feeling normal. I am so thankful for everyone who helped in saving my life.
