We are walking together - not only for our own health, but also for yours. And for the health of our parents, our children, and our grandchildren.
This year we are walking in honor of Ava Cooper, a bright and courageous 10-year-old girl, whose spirit has inspired countless lives. Ava was born with a congenital heart condition that has presented her was several challenges from the very beginning. Her current challenge is spending the last several weeks at Cleveland Clinic Main to undergo several tests to see if she is a candidate for a Heart Transplant. **UPDATE: Ava has been put on the transplant list and is awaiting a heart!
Despite hurdles, she has faced each day with remarkable strength, a radiant smile, and an unwavering determination that captured hearts of everyone around her. Ava's days are filled with crafting beautiful projects and playing with legos, the more challenging the better. Her love for crafts and legos reflects her vibrant personality and her ability to find happiness even in the smallest things, reminding us of all of the beauty of childhood.
Her journey, though filled with trials, has been a testament to the power of hope and resilience. We walk to celebrate her strength and honor her bravery in the face of adversity.
By participating in the Stark County Heart Walk in Ava's honor, we aim to raise awareness and funds for vital heart research and support programs. Our steps symbolize our commitment to fighting heart disease and congenital heart conditions, and to ensure that every child, like Ava, has a chance to live a full and healthy life. This walk is not just a tribute to Ava's courage, but to all families facing similar battles that they are not alone. Together, we walk to make a difference.
