I'm not just walking. I'm Heartwalking.
I would like to ask for your support as I raise money for the American Heart Association Heart Walk on September 28, 2024 at Romare Bearden Park in Charlotte, NC. I will be representing all of Maintenance and WIN. If anyone would like to support by walking, donating to my page or by purchasing a heart for $1, $5, or $10 to be placed on the wall it would be greatly appreciated.
This is a walk that I have done since 2008 and it has become more personal to me as the years have gone by. My brother who was 51 had an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator put in on July 26, 2017 because of his past heart attacks, strokes and his heart only functioning in the teens. In early September 2020 this Defibrillator saved his life due to him going into Afib and shocking him 3 times to get his heart back into rhythm. But due to Robert's heart being so weak his heart just couldn't handle the next heart attack he had and he passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 25, 2020. My mother has had stents placed in her due to past heart attacks and strokes. Heart Disease and Lung Cancer took my mom's life on April 7, 2018. On August 9, 2017 my stepdad had a massive heart attack and passed away. I had also lost my cousin June Lynn on June 14, 2018 due to a heart attack.
There are many of you out there that can relate by having family members, themselves or friends who have been affected or passed away from heart disease.
