My “Why”:
In 2020, at age 42, my husband Paul had the widowmaker heart attack. Survival rate when this occurs outside a medical facility is only 12%. We are so thankful for the care he received and that he’s had no permanent damage to his heart as a result of this serious cardiac event.
In 2022, I lost my mom to heart disease at 66 years old. She did not know she had a heart condition until she went to the hospital already in critical condition. Supporting the American Heart Association is important to me because I know how important their work is in both prevention and early diagnosis of heart disease.
My participation is in honor of my husband and in memory of my mom.
