For the past three years, I have been a coach for the American Heart Association Heart Walk in Detroit. For the last two years, I have been able to donate over $1,000 each year in the fight against stroke and heart disease.

This year, the cause hits home for me. I cannot express the importance of understanding the symptoms of heart disease and heart failure and the importance of going to the doctors before it is too late. 

9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. Cardiac arrests happen at work, in homes, on athletic fields and in neighborhoods everywhere, and the readiness of our community can be the difference between life and death. ​

Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone. ​

I along with Michael, Harrison and Dan will all be running the 5K this year on Saturday, June 7 in Detroit.
