Why I'm Fundraising: For My Children, and for Families Like Ours
Every step I take in the Heart Walk is for my children — for their health, their future, and the hope that one day, no parent will have to live with the fear that heart disease brings.
Two of my children carry the MYBPC3 gene mutation, which puts them at risk for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy — a serious condition that thickens the heart muscle and can lead to heart failure or sudden cardiac events.
As a parent, it’s incredibly hard to live with that uncertainty — to watch your children face challenges no child should have to, and to not know what the future holds.
That’s why I’m walking. That’s why I’m fundraising.
I’m supporting the American Heart Association to help fund research, improve early diagnosis, and move us closer to a cure. Because families like mine are counting on it.
❤ Every donation — big or small — makes a real difference.
Each dollar brings us closer to better treatments, more answers, and a healthier future for kids like mine.
If you’re able to give, thank you. If you’ve already given, thank you even more. Your support means the world to us.
From the bottom of my heart — thank you for walking this journey with me.
