In 2025, I’m walking in the American Heart Association Heart Walk, not just as a participant, but as a father who’s lived through the scariest moments a parent can imagine.
My son Roman had his first heart surgery before he could even walk. He faced his second before he turned two. Today, he’s a strong, joyful little boy with a bright future, but only because of the incredible care he received and the research and support made possible by organizations like the American Heart Association (AHA).
I’m walking because every step counts. Every dollar raised fuels lifesaving science, education, and support for families like mine. I’m walking because Roman’s story is one of hope, and I want to make sure other families get to tell stories like his.
But I can’t do this alone.
