“Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor”
We walk in memory of our beloved father, Kenneth Edward Lloyd — a man whose heart touched countless lives, even as his own heart was quietly failing. On December 1, 2022, our world changed forever when we lost our father to congestive heart failure. His passing was sudden, heartbreaking, and a painful reminder of how heart disease can affect even the strongest among us — often in silence. That’s why we are walking in his honor: to remember the life he lived so fully, to raise awareness, and to help save others through education and research.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Kenneth was a proud man of the South who embodied service, strength, and love. His roots ran deep in the community. His journey took him from Marist High School to the University of Georgia, where he earned a degree in Biochemistry, and later to Georgia State University where he received his MBA. He was also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Zeta Iota Chapter — a bond he held dearly throughout his life.
Kenneth dedicated himself to uplifting others. As PTA President at Whitefoord Elementary and Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts Troop 899, he empowered youth, championed education, and built programs that brought real resources into underserved communities. His leadership as Executive Director of the Whitefoord Community Program brought health clinics, reading initiatives, and life-changing opportunities to East Atlanta. Whether he was mentoring young men, coaching basketball, or capturing moments behind the lens in his beloved photography business, Chestnut Images, he served with purpose and heart.
But above all, Kenneth was a proud, devoted, ever-present father. His children — Peggy, Justin, and Taylor — pursue this walk in his honor. Because he was our rock. Because we carry his love and values every single day. And because we never want another family to face a loss like ours without warning or understanding.
This walk is more than a tribute, it’s a call to action. Heart disease is the leading cause of death, especially in Black communities. We ask for donation of $10 to support the awareness of heart disease.
By walking we raise awareness, by fundraising we fuel research, and by sharing his story we honor a life that was dedicated to service, strength, and deep compassion.
We love you, Daddy. This walk is for you ❤
