At 20 years old, I was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse (MVP) and regurgitation. Now at 43, I've been diagnosed with Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT). All of the symptoms were the same each time - fatigue, rapid heart rate, shortness of breath, and flucuating blood pressure.
My family has been riddled with heart disease for decades. In October 2024, I lost my mom at just 72 years old from Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) after a seven year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. In May 2025, my dad unexpectedly passed away from coronary disease. Losing both parents this year and receiving a new diagnosis myself encourages me to focus on my well-being.
Now that I'm on medication to control my symptoms I already feel better. I am grateful for the doctors and health care professionals who help keep people like me ticking and I am honored to work for Dignity Health.
Have a heart and help me reach my goal today!
