I would like to invite you to join us for the 209 American Heart Association Annual Heart & Stroke Walk. This initiative is incredibly meaningful to me. In 2021, I had early detection of a congenital defect in my aortic valve and underwent open-heart surgery. I was unaware of this condition until a routine doctor’s visit for an unrelated issue revealed that my heart was beginning to fail. Early detection saved my life, and efforts such as this walk support research initiatives that are vital to advancing life-saving measures for others.
