Join Us in Walking for Hearts That Keep Us Going
Two years ago, my life—and the lives of my ʻohana—changed forever.
In the summer of 2023, I suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while standing before my family and friends at my grandfather’s funeral. In an instant, everything stopped. I spent three days in a medically induced coma in the ICU while doctors worked tirelessly to understand what had happened and help my body and brain begin to heal.
But I’m here today because of heroes—and hope.
Thanks to CPR training, my cousins knew exactly what to do. Thanks to a defibrillator on-site, my heart was given a second chance. And thanks to the American Heart Association, these life-saving tools and education were available when I needed them most.
The AHA doesn’t just fund research and raise awareness—they save lives. They saved mine.
Now, I walk to honor that gift. I walk for every heartbeat that’s been saved, and every life that still can be.
Walk with us on Saturday, August 9 at Kapiʻolani Park.
Let’s celebrate life, raise awareness, and support the mission of the American Heart Association.
Your donation—no matter the size—helps bring CPR training, defibrillators, and heart health education to more families, more communities, and more lives.
Together, we walk with heart.
Together, we walk with hope.
