I'm Carson! I am 11 years old, and this will be my 9th Heart Walk!
I was born with congenital heart disease. I had one repair surgery when I was a baby and weighed only 3lbs. I continue to be monitored yearly, because one day I may need another valve repaired. I share a scar from the same surgery with my Mimi. I choose to walk to bring awareness to children like me. Without the funding for research, the amazing advances in heart care and intervention would not exist today. I am thankful for all of my surgeons, doctors, and nurses that helped me as baby to get where I am today.
