9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die.
I'm walking in memory and in honor of several family members. When I was young, 3 out of 4 of my grandparents died from heart attacks or heart disease between the ages of 53-65. It hit even closer to home this past February when my dad suffered a heart attack at home. Thankfully my mom went into action quickly giving him aspirin and calling 911. She saved his life and kept him from permanent heart damage. We are also grateful for the quick actions and good care given to him by the UT Hospital Heart Team. And above all, thankful God had His hand over the whole situation and my dad is still here with us!
It's imperative to ensure more people are made aware of the signs and the quick actions that could save the life of someone you love!
