The American Heart Association is doing important work to help ensure everyone in the Roanoke valley has the opportunity to live longer and healthier lives. This year, I am proud to be Co-Chairing the 2025 Roanoke Regional Heart Walk with Melanie Fitzgerald. Together we are striving to help raise awareness about cardiovascular disease and stroke.
Why I am fundraising:
In March of 2000 my dad passed away suddenly from a heart attack at the age of 49 years old. Losing him at a young age changed my perspective on heart health forever. It showed me how precious life is and how important it is to take action against heart disease.
Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in our nation, but through research, education, and awareness, we can make a difference. That is why I am walking - to honor my dad's memory, to support those affect by heart disease and stroke, and to help fund the advancements that can SAVE lives.
I would love for you to join me on Saturday, October 25th, at the Roanoke Regional Heart Walk. Festivities begin at 9:00am at River's Edge Park, with the walk starting at 10am.
Let's walk together - for those we have lost, for those still fighting, and for a future where heart disease takes fewer lives!
With heart,
Kimberly
