Heart health has deeply impacted my family. My mom was diagnosed with heart failure in 2018. My sister was also diagnosed with heart failure as well as a genetic heart mutation in 2021. Recently, I learned I carry the same genetic mutation.
Participating in the the SE Wisconsin Heart & Stroke Walk/5K Run means so much to me. It's a chance to honor my family's journey, raise awareness, and support research that can genuinely change lives.
