Life is Why! Join me in supporting the American Heart Association!
I’m not just walking. I’m Heartwalking. I am walking in honor of those I know who have survived a heart attack or stroke, especially my mother, Maria Aten. I am also walking in memory of my grandmother, Anna Wolkow, who passed away from a stroke when I was in elementary school. These women are the two of the most influential people in my life, helping me become who I am today.
My participation in the Heart Walk promotes fun ways to be physically active and make healthier choices every day. Imagine the impact if we reduce death and disability from cardiovascular diseases and stroke by 20 percent by 2020. Please help me reach this lifesaving goal by donating today. Together, we can make healthier, longer lives possible for everyone.
You can help fight heart disease in multiple ways:
$25 gives 50 people educational materials that teach them how to personally reduce their risk of heart diseases and stroke.
$50 delivers the message of healthy nutrition to elementary school students through lesson plans and activity guides.
$100 allows one hospital to teach its patients, caregivers, and health professionals about the risks of stroke - the nation's #4 killer.
My personal goal is to raise at least $750 for this organization. Thank you in advance for your support!
