Life is Why! Join me in supportingthe American Heart Association!
On Sunday, April 24th, I will be participating in the Heart Walk to help the fight against heart disease and stroke.
I will be walking for my daughter, Keeley.
Keeley was born with Vein of Galen Malformation ("VOGM"), which is a very rare type of vascular abnormality inside the brain that develops before birth. A VOGM occurs when there are misshapen arteries in the brain that connect with the veins, instead of capillaries, causing an increased blood flow to the heart. The increased blood flow makes the heart work harder, which causes enlargement of the heart and possible cardiac failure.
Because of the research and technological advances that come from funding from the American Heart Association, Keeley's doctors were able to intervene early and save her life by doing an embolization when she was only 6 weeks old.
Your support of the American Heart Association truly helps save lives of children like Keeley. Please know that every single donation makes an impact. Thank you in advance for your support!
