I am pleased to be participating in the 2024 Heart Walk and supporting the local Denver S&P Global group heart walk. By participating, it’s a great way to give back to the American Heart Association and raise awareness for the many different heart health challenges that can affect individuals and families at any age.
Heart health is incredibly important to me considering my own challenges with a hole in my heart that triggered fainting episodes resulting in a couple of accidents starting in my late teens. I was able to have a minimally invasive surgery in 2006 at age 27 to close the hole with an Amplatzer device. My dad also had a heart valve replacement in 2021 and my maternal grandfather also had a heart valve replacement in the 1980s. I am thankful every day for the medical advancements and research the American Heart Association has made possible supported by donations and the cardiologists who have treated us and allowed us to continue living a quality and active life.
