I walk to help save lives.
April 2, 2023-I had a sudden heart attack at home. I didn't know why because I was overall very healthy, active and had no previous cardiac history.
April 3, 2023- I had a spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) during my heart cath procedure at Huntsville Hospital. This was an absolute medical emergency!
Dr. Green from The Heart Center along with the Cath Lab staff worked very hard to save my life that day! Dr. Green was able to put two stents in my left main and LAD arteries to bridge the dissection.
April 4, 2023-I developed a blood clot in my right femoral artery and Dr. Stucky with Valley Vascular Consultants surgically performed an arterial repair with a bypass graft to my right femoral artery.
During my hospital stay, I was diagnosed with Fibromuscular Dysplasia (FMD) which is a rare Vascular Disorder that tends to affect women. It causes the affected arteries to have a "strand of beads" appearance. Not much is known about the causes of FMD, but it can manifest in more than one artery. People with FMD are more at risk for dissection, aneurysm or stroke
Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives.
Have a heart and help me reach my goal today.
