Every year we walk for Neviah. She was born with a congenital heart defect or CHD. Neviah underwent a seven hour long open heart surgery at just 4 days old. She was born with a D-transposition of the greater vessels. That means her pulmonary artery and aorta were parallel connecting to the wrong sides of the heart rather than crossed as they should be. Neviah was a fighter and was able to come home just 10 days after surgery.
Neviah had her second open heart surgery to remove scar tissue and redo the original surgery this past March at 6 years old.
We are very thankful for the advancements and legislation the American Heart Association has done in just the past 6 years and will continue to support them each year through the heart walk.
Thank you in advance for your support!
